Walkthrough: Mission Three

Mission OneMission TwoMission Three
Mission FourMission FiveMission Six
Mission SevenMission EightMission Nine

Objectives:
-Find Brother.
-Repair Tank.
-Locate Lost Explosives Truck.
-Disable Radio Communications Post.
-Signal Demolition Soldiers.
-Deliver Explosives Truck.

Optional Objectives:
-Find Commander Shima's Photograph.
-Find 'Golden Buddha.'

When this mission begins, you get a serene and clear look at an Allied-controlled bridge in the Philippines. Suddenly, a few Zeroes come out of the clouds and start to bombard the bridge with machine gun fire, swooping extremely low to get accurate hits on the allies on the bridge. Soon thereafter, you get control of your character.

You're armed with a 20-shot-per-clip Thompson M1 SMG. You can use it to look up and forward and shoot down one or two Zeroes. Then, run leftward down the bridge. Due to fire and supply boxes, going right isn't an option, so going left is the only way we can go. As you go, keep looking towards where the first planes were coming to try and shoot down some planes in a second wave of diving Japanese Zeroes. You'll run into a few soldiers shooting at the planes as you run down the bridge as well - they'll begin to run with you until you eventually get to the end of the bridge, where you find your brother, taking care of the initial mission objective.

From here, you'll have limited help from your brother and the rest of the American soldiers in this area as you take out the Japanese soldiers in the general vicinity of where you are. There will be three Japanese soldiers on the right side, and one on the left. Take them both out (they aren't exactly smart, so running out in the open with your Thompson shooting isn't such a bad idea). When the four initial soldiers are dead, you'll want to direct your attention to the porch-like platform on the left side.

One of the last games we received was Supreme Warrior. At a glance, this game is similar to an earlier Digital Pictures game, Prize Fighter - but there were significant improvements. Plot: You are a nameless warrior from the ancient order of the White Robe. You have been instructed to bring half of the Dai Bing mask to Master Kai. Supreme Warrior is a Full Motion Video game that was released by Digital Pictures responsible for other titles within the same genre, for CD based consoles ( 3DO, Sega CD, PC, etc ) that combines elements of combat and interactive film. Supreme Warrior managed to combine interactivity with full-motion video. Overall, it was an interesting concept. Battle Through Life's Obstacles and Take Charge of Your Dreams. Supreme Warrior is a full motion video action game developed by Digital Pictures. It was released in 1995 for North America and Europe for the 3DO Interactive Multiplayer, Sega CD, and 32X with a Sega CD attached, as well as for Macintosh and Windows. The game is themed as a kung fu movie where the player has to fight off opponents to protect half of a magical mask. Reviews of Supreme Warrior are mixed, variously praising the game's graphics while criticizing the gameplay and overuse of full mot.

On this platform, you'll find a crouching Japanese soldier taking shots at you. As soon as he's slain, immediately direct your attention on the door to the left of him, where another Japanese soldier will run out. You can kill him while he is running so he can't take any shots on you, or you can simply shoot him when he stays still. For both of these soldiers, you might want to change from the Thompson to the Garand you have in your inventory. It's a one-shot rifle, but it's also far more accurate, and semi-repeating. One well-placed bullet will take out any Japanese soldier, so it's a good gun to use, especially at long range when you don't have the option of using a sniper rifle of some sort.

The only other soldier here will be a Japanese soldier hiding in the alcove in the upper righthand corner of the area. He'll be on the left side of the alcove (unless you earlier drew him out of there), so clip him, and then the area will be completely devoid of enemy presence. You'll want to focus on finding the various goods in the area now - there's plenty of stuff to get here! While you're doing this, a second wave of enemies will come out (one from the left, and a few more from the right), so have your other soldiers cover you, and feel free to take shots at the enemies when you're running around grabbing these goods.

Starting at the beginning area, where we found your brother, go left from where we found him, in front of and to the side of the sandbags there, to a Field Surgeon Pack, as well as some M1 Garand Clips, Thompson Ammo, and a Medical Kit. On the other side, near the wooden gate, you'll find the same three things - some M1 Garand Clips, Thompson Ammo, and a Medical Kit. Going further up in the area, to a little place on your left behind some gates, you'll find some Grenades, some M1 Garand Clips, and Thompson Ammo. You'll also find a Medical Kit and a Field Surgeon Pack there in case you need them. You probably won't, but if you do, you can always backtrack and grab these to heal yourself.

Now, work your way to the staircase in the upper righthand corner of the area, and up to the catwalk it leads to, going around the various buildings there. Going on this catwalk will draw out enemies in both of the alcoves below. I found that if they hide, throwing a grenade will draw them out, as they'll run after it and try to throw it back. The grenade will either explode before they get to them, or you can simply clip them as they run out, ending their lives quickly. Either way, take out these enemies from the high ground you're on now so you don't have to deal with them later. At the end of this winding catwalk, you'll find some M1 Garand Clips. With these clips, head all the way back to the staircase, and back on solid ground.

The tank we need to fix is right near the staircase, and we can get what we need to fix it now, but first, go behind the tank and look right. You'll see a little alleyway between the two buildings there that leads to a little opening. You could have seen this opening via a hole through the wall in the alcove on the other side. In this little opening, you'll find some goods, including some M1 Garand Clips, Thompson Ammo, some Grenades, and a Medical Kit. With those in hand, head back to the tank.

If there are any more enemies remaining in the area, now is the time to take them out. Otherwise, run around the tank and go to the area where there are two little alcoves, right adjacent to the tank. You'll notice if you get too close to the tank, it'll say Find Tank Cogwheel on the top of the screen. That's what we're doing now. Traverse the left alcove (in back of the tank's position), going around the simple labyrinth that the crates make. At the end, you'll find the silver Cogwheel, which you should pick up.

Bring the newly found Cogwheel back to the tank. When you get close enough to the tank, it'll say Press ACTION to Fix Tank on the top of the screen. Do so, and this tank will have new life! It'll then smash through the barbed wire and wood barricade in front of you, clearing a way into the next section of this occupied Filipino village.

The tank drivers will ask you to escort it by watching out for any oncoming soldiers as it goes. This isn't too difficult. Stay on the right side of it initially and follow it into the street beyond the barricade. Immediately, a Japanese soldier will bust out on the right side onto a porch. Pop a few into him before he has a chance to shoot at you, and continue forward. There will be two more Japanese soldiers in an alcove ahead on the right side, so you can kill them or let the tank shells do the talking. There's nothing else of major threat on this first street, so go forward with the tank as it heads left, down the next street. Grab the Field Surgeon Pack on your right as the tank turns left before continuing.

On this street, the threats are much more serious. Other than the odd Zero swooping down and trying to hit the tank, you'll have suicide soldiers running at the tank with explosives. You'll need to kill these foes before they get to the tank, or their potential to destroy the tank is large. The tank's gunner will take shots at all of these foes, but don't rely on him - hit whatever you can as soon as you can, before they come an imminent threat. Continue up this street towards a decorative fountain on your right, clipping any Japanese soldiers (including the numerous suicide bombers) as you go.

As the tank turns right near the fountain, head left. You'll find ammo for all three of your guns there - some M1911 Rounds, some M1 Garand Clips, and Thompson Ammo as well. Go forward, and let the tank turn right again, killing more foes. Continue heading left, however, and you'll find another lone M1 Garand Clip sitting there, waiting to be picked up. Then, follow the tank down. There won't be too many enemies as you go, although you should shift right into a building as you're going to grab a Field Surgeon Pack to heal yourself if need be.

As the road turns left once more, the tank will stop, because there will be three enemies in a destroyed house that will be shooting on the tank, and these three Japanese soldiers will be needing some of your attention. The one on the right side, taking shots from above, can be taken out from the street. However, the other two on the left side will need to be taken out at a more close proximity from your rifle. Run into the ditch and follow it into the house's wreckage. On either side of you will be a Japanese soldier. Clip them both, and then grab the M1 Garand Clips and Thompson Ammo from within the house, before going back to the tank's position on the street as it now heads down yet another road.

This vacant road will eventually lead to an open area with four houses and a slew of Japanese soldiers. Each house here is occupied by a Japanese soldier, so while the tank drives to the right of the houses, killing soldiers as it goes, go and clear each of the four houses to the left of the tank, as well as the two soldiers in the alcove at the north of the area, and whoever is on the various platforms, porches and catwalks in the area as well. The tank will eventually stop at a forced-dead end made from rubble, so you'll have to find an alternate way to continue.

While you're doing all of this fighting, a new objective (to destroy a radio outpost) will be added. We'll take care of this soon. For the same of completeness, the four houses where we just killed the Japanese soldiers should be combed for items as well. If you're facing the tank, the house in the lower right corner will have some M1 Garand Clips, Thompson Ammo, and a Medical Kit. Other than that, you can find some rice and soup in some of these houses to heal yourself slightly. Then, go to the location of the tank, and then slightly behind it and to the left, where you'll find a staircase leading up. At the top of this staircase, the door is locked, but you'll find a Field Surgeon Pack if you need it.

From here, backtrack all the way to the vacant road before this small complex of houses. You'll find two soldiers on the left side as you come back, which you should kill. You'll find that the building they were guarding has a door that's not closed anymore, but now blown open. A Japanese tank will be watching this door carefully, so watch its turret as you run at the door and enter into the building. In the initial room in this building, a staircase will be leading up and a door to your left into an adjacent room. However, flanking the staircase ahead of you are some ammo; Thompson Ammo on the left and M1 Garand Ammo on the right. Behind the staircase is a save point if you'd like to save your game!

Ignore the doorway to the left of the staircase leading outside. This is the normal way you'd go outside, but it's not worth it if you know the secret! Go up the stairs, instead, and go through the hole in the wall to an outdoor destroyed half-room of this house. Leading down to the ground from this room is a fallen 2x4. Go down this 2x4 and you'll find yourself on the ground behind a Japanese machine gunner mounting a huge machine gun. How convenient!

Pop this Japanese soldier before he knows what hit him and quickly mount the machine gun. This will make taking out the soldiers coming from both your left and (especially) in front of you much quicker and easier. The crates in front of you make horrible cover for the Japanese, as well, since this gun tears through the crates like their looseleaf paper. In fact, if you want to make it futile for the Japanese soldiers to even run out in front of you (they will even if you do do this, but it's fun anyway), destroy all of the crates so they have nothing at all to hide behind, making them sitting ducks for the large machine gun now turned against them. Do keep an eye on your left side, as soldiers will come from there as well, bayoneting you while you are gunning at the men in front of you. The gun swivels well, so it shouldn't be an issue.

When things calm down considerably (or completely), get off of the large machine gun. Don't let any Japanese soldiers get to the machine gun, though, or they'll wreak havoc! Go back left and kill the soldiers guarding the door you should have come out of (wink wink!) And enter back into the building. Again, go back up the staircase, and this time, go left and into the adjacent room. Approach either window facing out in this room and look up and ahead, where you'll find three well-placed Japanese soldiers on the roof across the way. Kill these three soldiers, as it will save you time and make things easier for you down the road. Then, go back to the mounted machine gun outside, and we'll continue from there!

Go slightly towards the building we came out of, and you'll find an alleyway that'll eventually lead to a dead end after it swings right. At the end of this alleyway, you'll find M1 Garand Clips and two bags of Grenades, if you need either. Then, head back to the machine gun once more. Go past the machine gun and continue down the road. As you get to the end, you'll see some goods straight ahead of you as the road continues, swinging leftward. To the left of these goods, a Japanese soldier will come out gunning as the doors swing open. Be ready for him, gunning him down as he comes out. Then, grab the goods to his right - Thompson Ammo, M1 Garand Clips, and M1911 Ammo as well.

Go forward here, clipping both enemies hiding behind crates on the right. On your left, beyond the black iron gates ahead of you, you'll find two Japanese soldiers gunning at you from porches high above. The Garand is the weapon of choice on these two fellas, as two well-placed shots will take out both of them for good.

It seems like a dead end here, but in fact, it's not. The large wooden gates to your right are locked, but flanking this gate are two little ditches that lead into a sewer system. To enter the small holes into the sewer system, you will need to duck down. You aren't too big, you just have to make yourself fit by crouching! Once in the sewer, the path will immediately fork. Going left will lead you to a dead end, so go right instead. At the end of this long, linear pathway, you'll find a staircase that leads back up to fresh air, sun, and more Japanese enemies.

Look straight ahead as you come out of the sewer - no one knows you're here yet. A Japanese soldier patrols in front of you, so clip him before he turns around. Then, turn around and run towards the goods behind where you ran up the stairs - M1911 Ammo, M1 Garand Clips, Thompson Ammo, and a Medical Kit! Run forward, now, back towards the stairs, and beyond it, where you'll likely encounter more Japanese soldiers immediately.

Go around the perimeter, head rightward. In between two large holding boxes as you go forward (to your right), you'll find a Medical Kit and M1 Garand Ammo if you need either. Continue forward to a series of crates with a hole in it. Go around these crates and kill the Japanese soldiers that stay here as well. In the corner they were protecting, you'll find more of the same - Grenades, M1 Garand Clips, Thompson Ammo, and the like.

Now, make a quick run rightward and up the stadium stairs to the booth in front of you, the one along the first base line in this occupied baseball field. Kill the lone man in this booth (who was manning a mounted machine gun), and get on that gun yourself. Kill the slew of enemies that come out of both dugouts (what the hell were they doing in the dugouts is the real question), and then take aim at the enemies that come out of the now-opened large brown door in the right corner of the field. When things have calmed down completely, leave this booth, going back down to the baseball diamond.

The booth along the third base line is our objective now, for this is the radio outpost we have to disable. Go up the stadium stairs to this booth, and kill the radio operator. Put a few bullets into the radios in the room to disable them, taking care of that objective, and also shoot the large crate in this room, revealing a picture which you should pick up to complete the first of the two optional objectives on this mission, and then run to the now-open brown doors. You'll be in familiar territory - the sewer entrance is flanking you as you go through the open door. To your left will be one lone Japanese soldier. Kill him, and then go right, now that the black iron gates are open and are no longer blocking the road.

Go down this road, and as it swings left, so should you. There will be little enemy resistance here (it'll be focused in the form of two soldiers guarding the house in front of you). Kill these two guards, and then backtrack. There will be two branches right before the outer gates to this house, one going left and the other right. To the left, there's nothing of any interest. To the right, however, is an item outpost. Follow it as it swings right, killing the soldier guarding these goods. You'll find Grenades, Medical Kits, M1 Garand Clips, Thompson Ammo, and M1911 Ammo. Score!

Backtrack, now, but ever-so-slightly. Not back to the road, but so you see a little hole that you have to crouch into to enter the building there. In this building, kill the lone Japanese soldier so he doesn't harass you later. There will be a crate near the hole in the wall which we entered this destroyed building via. Destroy that crate (and two more within that one) to reveal a large statue. Grab the statue to complete the second (and final) optional objection on this mission, and then head back to the road. Go forward into the large building the two soldiers were guarding earlier.

Once inside, you'll see a grand looking duel-staircase ahead of you. Climb either staircase, and get the Grenades on the upper area it leads to. Then, go back down the stairs, and go left into an adjacent room. Take the staircase in this room up to the next level, and kill the one Japanese soldier within. Swing right into the room and up the next staircase to the roof. On this shattered roof, you'll find a mounted machine gun.

A quick note will flash on-screen telling you to protect your men below. To do this, you'll need to kill the Japanese soldiers below, and the tank that comes from the north as well. This is an easy task, considering you've got the mounted machine gun to use. Take out the tank first (as the explosion will likely take some Japanese soldiers surrounding it with it), and then take out any remaining soldiers in the area. When things are safe, your men will bust through the gate at the left side of the compound, meaning you should leave the gun.

Go back downstairs to the double staircase, and go through the now open door. Once through the gate, you'll find the tank you earlier fixed, as well as some of your soldiers. Run towards the tank, and then head right to find the explosives truck - another one of our missions. This instantly adds on another mission, however - to signal the demolition soldiers.

To signal them, you'll need to go into the church on the left side of this compound. Once in the church, climb the stairs to the top of the large steeple, and ring the bells up there, which will signal the demolition soldiers, letting them know we're ready to go. Then, run back down the stairs. You can go into the church itself and save at the save station near the altar if you'd like - otherwise, head back to the explosives truck and jump in it.

This mission finale (if you will) puts you in this fast moving truck as you fight soldiers on both sides of you. It can be a little hectic - especially when a Japanese tank comes into play.

As you start out, look leftward and throw a grenade at the mounted machine gun as soon as you see it. This will take out both hard-to-reach soldiers there, rendering their powerful gun useless. From here, the truck will stop, and the tank that has been trailing you will also stop. This will leave open the roadway behind you for a Japanese tank to start trailing you. This tank must be destroyed if you want to get through this mission - catch is, your guns won't do anything to it.

While combating the various enemies that come into view as the truck drives, you'll need to look out for and throw grenades at the various groups of highly explosive red barrels in the different areas around. The Japanese tank will conveniently roll near each of these barrels, and if you are able to explode those barrels, you'll injure the tank. Additionally, throw grenades on the ground in front of the tank. The explosions will damage the tank as well - if the tank runs over the grenade, the grenade will explode and do good damage as well.

That tank will eventually explode and stop following you. The sooner you can damage it enough to make this happen, the better off you'll be. You'll have to deal with a slew of Japanese soldiers as you go over a bridge and go through a Filipino village - this is where things will start to slow down. When you find some Japanese soldiers running after your truck, clip them all. This signifies that we are indeed near the end of this mission.

You'll come back to the starting point in the mission, smashing through a previously-locked gate. Once through the gate, shoot the remaining enemies, chuck some grenades, et cetera. When things calm down a bit, the mission will end, with some cut-scenes and whatnot taking over. You'll watch as that bridge explodes, and the allies score a small victory in an otherwise larger defeat in the Philippine Islands.
