Furcadia Patches

admin

In Furcadia, patches are custom items, floors, walls etc. In this tutorial you will learn how to add special items to your dream.First you need a patch.

You can either draw or download one. If you didn't already download a patch, you can download some here:In this tutorial I will use this patch:.I recommend using that patch as well for now, just to learn how it works.:) You can, of course, use a different patch as well. The problem with some patches is their file name. The file name is VERY important.

It's perfect for every player:Beginners:Not everybody is a chess master! Most chess games are too strong or just make random mistakes at easier levels. TChess Pro has unique algorithms to simulate human opponents.Experts:tChess Pro has a top-tier chess engine. T chess pro. (Over 380 ELO points stronger than Caissa Chess.)Enthusiasts:tChess Pro's Analysis Mode is like having a chess master in your pocket.

If your patch has a different file name, it will NOT work. In this case you have to rename the file. The bold file names in the list are those you should try to use as these are the only file names the default patch doesn't use (the other files contain items/floors/walls of the default patch). As you can see, there is no empty wall-file, so if you add a wall patch, you will override several default walls. If you, for example, call your wall patch 'wall.fox', you will override the white/red default walls. The default patch is all the items, floors, walls (and other things) you can see before adding a patch.:) Example:The tree, the pillow, the floors and the walls all belong to the default patch.:) The pillow and the tree can be found in 'item1.fox' so, if you named the patch you're adding 'item1', you would REPLACE the tree and the pillow with your new patch. Since 'iteme' is NOT used in the default patch, you will NOT replace anything but ADD new things.:) The floor version of 'iteme' is 'floore'.We can start now.:) First of all, go to your Furcadia folder. (click the picture to enlarge)In the Furcadia folder, double-click the 'patches' folder and create a new folder inside the 'patches' folder. (Right-click a random free spot inside the folder, click on 'new' and choose 'folder')You can now name your folder. I will call it 'Dreampatch'.

Now, doubleclick the folder you just created and put the patches you want to add to your dream into it.:) (See picture)Next, open your Dream Editor. In the Dream Editor, click on 'patches' (you will find it in the taskbar) and select 'dream settings'. (Click picture to enlarge)When you click on dream settings a new window will pop up. As you can see, there are 4 headlines: Dream Name, Safety, Patches and dream preferences. Well, since we're trying to add a patch we will focus on 'patches'. There are three points, the first point is probably marked right now but to add a new patch mark the SECOND point. If you did so, click on 'browse' and a new window will pop-up (see picture).

Now you have to browse into the folder you created before, in my case the folder is called 'Dreampatch'. You can now click on 'OK', and you're done!If you've done everything right, you should see your patches in the item list now.:) Go and check! If you named your (item-)patch 'iteme', the new items will be on the last pages!I hope it worked ^^. The Roamheart Patching Database is a website created by patch artist, Kinsem. It was created in 2004 in order to provide a temporary home for patches while the official Furcadia Patch Archive was redesigned. When the development of a new patch archive site was halted, the Roamheart archive became a permanent fixture to patchers and dreamweavers alike. This is my Furcadia page, all about my Furcadia self and what I do there. Read more about Abstract. Important Notice Due to losing all of my patches and maps during a recent move, my dreamweaving service will be temporarily out of order.
